About the California Trail at Oakland Zoo

Launched in2018, theCalifornia Trailhabitat doubled the size of the Oakland Zoo and introduced eight native specieslike mountain lions, bears, condors, and wolves. About the Artist: Les Toil

Les Toil, also known as Brian Clarke, is an Oakland-based artist whose career spans major motion pictures, graphic novels, advertising campaigns, and museum exhibitions. Inspired by the pulp illustrations and pop culture of the 1970s, his signature style combines dramatic detail with playful retro energy. His work has been seen in film, television, and recently in the San Francisco De Young Museum. With this puzzle, Les brings his distinctive oil painting technique to life, celebrating the wildlife of California with flair and reverence.
